Title: Ivy and Bean Bound to be Bad
Author: Annie Barrows
Illustrator: Sophie Blackall
Genre: Realistic Fiction, School, Chapter Book
Age: Early Elementary School

The Ivy and Bean website says this about book 5: Ivy and Bean decide to be so good and kind and pure of thought that wild animals will befriend them. When this doesn’t work, they decide that perhaps a little badness can be good.

Maybe when you are done reading it, you can convince your own offspring to try being good and kind and pure of thought. It’s certainly worth a try!

  1. Thank you so much! This is so exciting, and such great books for little girls (and their moms)! It really allows for nice conversation about every day things little girls think about.

  5. Ok, Wendy, trying again! I’m thrilled that Melissa Spradlin won this week, since she’s the executive director of Book’Em/RIF in Nashville — but the truth is that she needs about a million copies of your Ivy and Bean books, so if i win, let’s just send my copy to her!

  6. Yeah! I won a book! Thank you! It will go to one of the elementary kids at a Title I Metro Nashville Public School that Book’em+RIF Nashville serves. (Thanks Mary. I hope you win.) Ivy and Bean is such a great series for elementary students. If you have suggestions of other series that are good for K-4 grades, I would appreciate it. Book’em has a very limited budget (average of $2.00-$3.00 per book), but we try to get popular books for the economically disadvantaged children we serve. We order most of our books from Scholastic, AKJ Books, Books4Schools, First Book. Ideas/suggestions are appreciated! Thanks again for my book. – Melissa Spradlin, ceo@bookem-kids.org, Book’em, 161 Rains Ave, Nashville, TN 37203-5330

  7. More Ivy and Bean! Great Giveaways!
